Privacy Policy — MOS Racing
MOS Racing ("the game", "we") is a time-attack racing game. This policy explains exactly what data the game handles. In short: the game has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking SDKs, and it only sends data off your device if you choose to submit a lap to the global leaderboard.
Data the game stores on your device
The following is saved locally on your device (Android app storage) and is not transmitted unless noted below:
- Your settings (controls, assists, audio).
- Your personal best lap times.
- A display name you optionally enter.
- A random identifier generated once by the app on first launch (see below).
Data sent when you submit a leaderboard lap
Submitting a lap to the global leaderboard is optional — it only happens if you have entered a display name and set a personal best. When you do, the game sends the following to our backend (hosted on Supabase) over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection:
- Display name — the name you typed (up to 20 characters). Choose a nickname if you prefer; it is shown publicly on the leaderboard.
- Random app identifier — a randomly generated ID (a UUID) created by the app on your device. It is not your device ID, advertising ID, or any hardware identifier. It is used only to associate and de-duplicate your leaderboard entries.
- Lap data — your lap time, the car and track, and a "ghost" recording (a series of positions of the car during the lap) so other players can race your ghost.
We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, or any hardware/advertising identifiers.
Why we use this data
Solely to operate the global leaderboard and ghost-replay feature (app functionality). We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or tracking, and we do not sell or share it with third parties. Our backend provider (Supabase) processes and stores the data on our behalf as a service provider.
Data retention and deletion
Leaderboard entries are kept until you ask us to remove them. To have your submitted entries and display name deleted, email support@mos-simracing.de with the display name you used, and we will delete the associated entries. You can also clear all locally stored data at any time from your device's Android app settings (Storage → Clear data).
Children
MOS Racing is not directed at children under 13. Because display names are shown publicly on the leaderboard, we ask that children do not submit personal information as a display name.
Security
All data sent to our backend is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised policy at this address.
